​The Great Movie Ride opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, formerly Disney-MGM Studios on May 1st 1989. Hollywood Studios is going through a major overhaul now and unfortunately this amazing ride will close for good on August 13th 2017. It is the last opening day attraction to close at this park, marking the official end of an era. It will soon be replaced by Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway, an immersive ride through a new Mickey mouse short.
